Crystallographic Axes and Miller Indicies

Crystallographic axes

Bravais Law: The most common and prominent xl faces are those that lie in planes with the greatest number of lattice points per unit area.

Steno's Law: (Also the Law of Constancy of Interfacial Angles) Angles between equivalent faces of xls of the same mineral are equal. This is generally measured with a tool called a goniometer.
